Classroom Best Practices: Ethical, Empathetic, and Euphoric: Helping Children Learn to Live in our Complex World with Integrity, Compassion, and a Healthy Sense of Humour

Jonathan Wolff

In this workshop, Jonathan Wolff delves into the three streams of character development at the heart of molding a global citizen: ethical decision making; compassion that stimulates social advocacy and action; and viewing the world with joyful detachment. The aspiration of all Montessori educators is to see children acting with integrity, empathy, and social responsibility. We also want students to enjoy the process of learning and living, to be able to laugh at themselves, and celebrate the “quaint human spectacle” with others. Learn more about how these skills, absorbed from real-life classroom experiences, are essential to developing an integral citizen of our great nation of humanity.
